51art volunteered with Sesame Workshop for the "Sesame Reads Family Literacy Day" at an upper west side public school. the event was filled with activities for children as well as parents and teachers, enabling them to explore beyond their world. there were volunteers from all over the city including: community gardeners, blue ocean institute, PBS, local artists and more, to share with the children. and as a special treat the muppet character "Zoe" stopped by-the crowd went wild! even on this drizzly day, the yard was alive with smiles and curiosity. it was a privilege to be part of such a wonderful day.april, 2008
