black and white beach photography is like no other black and white landscape photography I know. when the sun dances on the incoming waves;
when the distant storm clouds release their sheets of rain;
when the sun kisses the water as it sets for another day;
these images of black and white nature are not only breath taking but bring back the child in all of us.

the days when we were able to spend countless hours playing on the beach, waiting for the tide to come back in so we could start body surfing all over again. catching the wave at the perfect moment where it takes us crashing to shore, getting sand in our bottoms once again.
hours would pass as our fingers got prunie...and we would continue to do it over and over again until the lifeguards closed down the beach for yet another day.

as with all classic black and white photographers, I continue to use film and my old 35mm rangefinder when shooting these pictures of landscape. I love that black and white photography allows the viewer to focus on the beauty, the texture, the shadows & light of a subject.
